Picasa

Here is the link to my picasa site:
https://picasaweb.google.com/107641030435449702262/Home#
I believe that this technology is useful. I think it is useful that others can view pictures that I post and give me feedback. It would be extremely useful if I lived far away from my family. I could share new photos with them and they could do the same as well.
I also think it is good that the site allows me to edit my own pictures as well. I am glad that there are technologies like this that we can use that are free to the public.
I entered to win a 2 Night Stay at Hampton Creek Inn B&B in WA  from keeperofthehome.org and savingnaturally.com @ http://bit.ly/gZfNFb

social bookmarking

I think social booking marking is helpful. I think it would be really helpful in classroom situations. If the teacher pulled up the website all of the students could look at the pages. This is like the exercise we completed in class.
I think this would also be helpful for students who have to use many different computers in a day like myself.  I can keep all of the sites I use in one place like the schools web page and the organizing page that I find helpful.
I think it would also be good for business people who travel often as well so they can keep track of all of the sites they like and need to be successful.

Wikipedia contribution

On wikipedia I contributed to an article on daylilys. I wrote on the tab under cultivars. At home I grow daylilies and there were a few items that seemed to be missing. I thought that there needed to be something added about separating the plants after a few years because different bulbs come up every year. Sometimes the plants can get to crowded and not be as productive as the could be if they were separated. Here is the link to the page:

I think that it important to separate the plant every few years.

RSS

I have enjoyed learning about RSS this week. I think that this technology is useful. Having most of the sites I visit in one location has been helpful. I also enjoyed looking for new sites that I found interesting. One being "I'm an organizing junkie" has had a lot of information that makes my daily life less hectic. One article she published this week was about making decisions:
http://orgjunkie.com/2011/01/52-weeks-4-making-decisions.html
I have enjoyed looking at her past publications. Each week of the year she opens up a discussion on organizing so others can share their ideas as well.
Another blog I have liked to keep track of is epicurious. This blog has all different types of recipes you can try from different companies and magazines like Bon Appetit. One that looked really good to me was a muffin recipe. At this link:

Over all I thought RSS was a good use on my time and hope I plan on to keep using it.

In class I enjoyed learning the process of creating a blog. I have never created a blog before. I had no idea that it was so simple. I like there are different backgrounds and settings to choose from. It helps to make my blog unique. It is hard to believe how many people are on the Internet creating new blogs and blogging daily. I think it will be enjoyable to go read a comment on some of the topics I am interested in.

first day of class

Today we are learning how to set up our new blog in class. The process of setting up my blog was relatively easy.
